I would have told you the history of your ancestors as I remembered them, I would have given you some advice backed up with stories of my own mishaps and triumphs. I would have loved you.           I was born Hazel G. Strawn in 1936 at the end of the Great Depression and the beginning of World War Two. I am a graduate of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, class of 1970, with a BS Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has gathered all of her poetry together to provide a record of her work up to this time whether good, better, or best. Like all poetry it provides an insight, a glimpse, into the mind and feelings of the author. The first poem offered, Windfalls, which won First Prize in The Marcella Siegel Memorial Contest in A Galaxy of Verse, (2002 Fall-Winter) sets the stage for all that comes after, in alphabetical order. The letters of the alphabet were designed and painted by the author. It is sincerely hoped you will find something to remember out of all these words.
